How to make a QR code for your business card

  1. Choose a type. Add contact details, a full website address or plain text in the form above.
  2. Review the preview. Check your spelling and any website addresses before downloading.
  3. Download PNG or SVG. Place the code in your layout and preserve the white margin around it.
  4. Test before you print a batch. Scan a full-size proof on multiple phones and confirm the intended destination or contact details.

Static QR vs a smart digital card

A static contact QR stores the entered details inside its pattern. If your phone number changes, the code on existing prints still contains the old number. You will need to create a new code and replace those prints.

A website QR contains an address. If that address opens an eBiz hosted card, you can edit the page while keeping the same link. Its photos, video and contact information can change without replacing the printed code, as long as the card and its address remain available. Changes to the hosted page do not update contacts already saved on someone’s phone.

Is this QR code generator free?

Yes. Create and download PNG or SVG codes without a sign-up or watermark. The generator builds the code in your browser; it does not send the contents to a QR generation service.

What happens when someone scans the code?

Contact card mode contains a vCard with the details you entered. Website link mode opens the encoded address, while Plain text mode contains your text. The prompts and contact import options depend on the recipient’s camera and apps. Saving a contact requires their choice.

Can I edit the QR code after printing it?

The data inside a printed QR code is fixed. A contact vCard needs a new code when its details change. A website QR can point to a hosted card whose content you edit while keeping the same address. That page must remain available.

Should I download PNG or SVG?

PNG is useful for everyday layouts and documents. SVG keeps the square modules sharp when resized in compatible design software. Both downloads include a four-module white margin. Preserve that margin and test a full-size printed proof.

How big should I print the code?

The right size depends on the amount of encoded data, printing quality and scanning distance. Use strong contrast, give it generous space and test the actual printed size on multiple phones. Do not crop away the clear margin.
